Chicago's Most Expensive Homes: Bizzare Pricing Strategy On That Converted Substation

Back in November I wrote about one of Chicago’s Most Expensive Homes that had just hit the market on The Gold Coast: The $14 MM Converted Substation On The Gold Coast. The 15,000 sq ft home located at 924 N Clark St was originally priced at $13.9 MM but then that listing was cancelled exactly a week ago but immediately came back as a $12.9 MM listing. There was no change in agent.
Well, on Monday they raised the price again to $13.9 MM. What’s with that? Was the $12.9 MM a weekend special? A horrible mistake? I don’t have an answer for you but we see this from time to time and believe it or not it is often intentional – a way to get attention I guess.
