French Provincial Palace – $799,000

Just ran across this “French Provincial palace” last night when my Near South real estate search bled over into Armour Square. Here is the description:

IT’S A PALACE. IT’S ONLY ONE. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING
EXTERIOR LOOK ON THIS FRENCH STYLE 4-STY HOUSE W/BEAUTIFUL WHITE MARBLE
DECK ABOVE BLACK GRANITE POND. THE INSIDE ALWAYS TAKES VISITORS’ BREATH
AWAY: MUSEUM LIKE LIVING RM; FRENCH ROYAL STYLE HOME THEATER; GARDEN
DINING RM; ARABIAN MASTER BEDRM; HUGE 6-STAR GUEST RM; 8 CARVED PANEL
DOORS, CHINESE TEA ROOM.

At 3500 square feet this 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath single family home is located at 1908 S. Louie Parkway (kind of like the king). It has been on the market for 323 days now, with 5 price changes – two of which were actually substantial increases for a period of time. In fact, for 6 days it was actually listed for sale at $699K?!?!?!

The home appears to have been purchased in April, 2005 for $428K so I assume the current owner is trying to recover the cost of modifications made to the property.

  1. OMFG. The place must reek of Brut For Men, Lysol, cigars, sweat and cheap women…

  2. Possibly the most vile property I’ve seen in the city. Whomever the “designer” is should be publicly flogged for wasting materials.
