In case you’ve been throwing away your junk mail without reading it there’s a runoff election today for aldermen in several fiefdoms wards. There’s a nice little summary of the candidates and the wards in yesterday’s Chicago Tribune. If you want to know where to vote you can go to the polling place locator provided by the Board of Elections.
For those of us living in University Village, it’s the incumbent Danny Solis (who actually lives in University Village) vs. the challenger CuauhtĂ©moc Morfin. The Gazette actually has a great rundown on the two candidates for those of you who plan on cramming at the last minute for the test. University Village residents vote at the usual place – George Collins Senior Apts at 1401 S Blue Island Ave.
Polling places are open from 6 AM to 7 PM. In the tradition of Chicago please be sure to vote for any friends and family members that can’t make it.
